
About me
Yutong Lu is an illustrator and visual artist from China, currently based in London. Her practice spans editorial illustration, comics, animation, and packaging design, often exploring narrative and emotion through vibrant visual storytelling.
She has collaborated with the Edinburgh International Book Festival Communities, Crumble Magazine, and Children in Scotland, creating works that merge sensitivity with intense conceptual clarity. Her illustrations have been exhibited at the National Library of Scotland and featured in publications and community projects.
Yutong graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Visual Communication, following a BA (First Class Honours) in Illustration from the University of Edinburgh. Her work has been recognised by the 3x3 International Illustration Awards, the Hiii Illustration Awards, and the Batsford Book Prize.
Through her practice, Yutong continues to explore how visual art can connect people, stories, and emotions—inviting audiences into worlds that are imaginative yet deeply relatable.
